CLOVERFIELD

The Marais family of Cloverfield descends from the original 17th century French Huguenots who settled in the Western Cape and now produces world class wines on this old Robertson farm. It is flanked by the Breede River and the Langeberg, giving the whole area a serene atmosphere.

Today there are about 110 hectares of vines and these grapes are known to produce fantastic Chardonnay and Shiraz. However, Cloverfield is also praised for its Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Cinsaut, Colombar and Petite Verdot. The discovery of a cold fermentation process changed the profile of the wines produced in this area, giving Cloverfield a head start.
