Truter Family Wines, is a family business with Hugo and Celeste Truter at the wheel with a combined 30 years of experience in the wine industry. Even though they both have been winers for such a long time their vision has always been clear to them: ”The wine industry is more a lifestyle instead of a job or a career”. They love everything that is associated with wine and hope to be a contribution to a sustainable South African wine industry.

” We believe that our combined 30 years of experience will give us a very practical approach towards this goal. This is what makes Truter Family Wines such a dynamic team “

Hugo Truter came into the wine business in 1996 with a Bachelors in Oenology, big plans for the future and lots of enthusiasm. His harvest in France and South Africa earned him titles such as SA Young Wine of the Year 2007, along with multiple Veritas Medals and a top ten Pinotage medal. His wife Celeste completed the same education and also officially started in winery since 1996. Celeste focusses on ethical wine trade and sustainable wine production and implements this where possible.

Agaat would be the Truter Family Wines’ showpony. A name they stumbled upon while searching for the perfect name for their ‘baby’, but it turned out Celeste was expecting twin boys. A beautiful backstory for a beautiful wine.
